Getting excited for Christmas

Ty and Aidan are trying to get over this horrible sickness. We have mentholatum pumping through the vents (wish that was possible) Ty is doing much better, he has been fever free since Thursday. We had to take Aidan into see the doctor, no fever but she had developed a horrible cough and not eating. I've been getting creative with food choices, but she is mainly sticking with fruit. She has developed bronchitis like symptoms so is now on antibiotics. It's been a lot of rough nights of not sleeping well, and during the day she just wants mommy to hold her. We are hoping our sweet baby begins to get better soon. We haven't been out of the house much, Ty is starting to go crazy. He asked me the other day if we could go somewhere. We had rescheduled an ornament painting party from last weekend to this past Friday night. I make these cinnamon ornaments and Ty had a blast with all his friends here to hang out eating some fresh homemade gingerbread cookies (I made my mom's cookies and they came out wonderful) peppermint hot chocolate, and the traditional christmas wreath from my mother-in-law's recipes. On Saturday we had Aidan's 3rd b-day celebration here at our house with her two little girl friends all turing 1 in December. She managed to have a little fun, poor little girl with her running nose. She didn't dig into her cake this time like she did at her other parties. We are hoping that we can recover quickly and get out to enjoy some of my most favorite time of the year. I think it's quickly becoming Ty's favorite time of the year too.

Thanksgiving & Aidan's big first birthday

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We were able to get to Chad's parent's house Tuesday night so we could have an extra day there. We had Christmas with them so Ty and Aidan could open all their presents from granny, granddad, and uncles and aunts. Ty was so excited to get his buzz, woody, and slinky from toy story. He was so much fun to watch this year, so much more excited about presents than last year. Aidan just loved playing with all the wrapping from her presents. Thanksgiving dinner was amazing. Even though Ty still doesn't do a great job at eating he managed to eat some of Granny's turkey, stuffing, and fruit salad. However, our little Aidan ate everything on her plate, sweet potatoes, turkey, stuffing, fruit salad, etc. Our little girl loves to eat!! We had the first of three birthday celebrations for Aidan on Friday after Thanksgiving. Aidan was able to celebrate with cousins, aunts, uncles, granny and granddad. We decorated with hot pink and lime green balloons, good food, and amazing cake and cupcakes made by a local women in town. Aidan was not shy with her cake, she dove right in. We will put pictures up very soon. We drove home on Sunday and went pick up Nana (my mom) on Monday from the airport. Nana was able to come spend the week and celebrate another b-day party with Aidan. On Tuesday night I made the traditional quiche, hot apple cider, put on our xmas music and we got the tree all decorated. We got some good pictures of Ty finding some of his favorite ornaments and hanging them on the tree. Sadly on Wednesday Ty began running a high fever. Being a bit nervous about the H1N1, on Thursday after we had Aidan' b-day breakfast I took Ty off to the doctor. He and Aidan were both put on Tamiflu but it did no good. Both had fevers on Friday and have continued now for 5 days. They do not have H1N1 but the virus they have is not fun. We are doing constant hot showers, mentholatum, humidifiers, etc. We are praying our babies are well soon. Ty is so excited about going to see Santa, we have to get better so we can get out of this house and enjoy the Christmas season.

All our favorite things of Fall

I apologize for length of time since writing last, so much to catch up on. Aidan got to spend her first week alone with Granny and Granddad at the end of September. Granny and Granddad were reluctant to bring her back, they had a blast. Ty was able to have some alone time with mommy and daddy. We went our first annual camping trip of the fall at the end of September, we all had a blast in spite of all the rain. Ty loves camping, after returning home he requested to sleep in his sleeping bag in his own little tent in the playroom instead of his bed. In October we made another trip to the beach, this time Aidan really got into playing in the sand and not eating it. She and Ty both enjoyed splashing in the water, although it was quite a bit cooler than our last trip. We returned home from the beach with just enough time to shake off the sand, do a little laundary and pack up again for our second annual camping trip, the trip that Chad and I actually plan for our group of friends here. Aidan did fabulous sleeping in the tent, and loved being outside. Ty, as always, had a blast playing with all his friends in the woods and of course enjoyed the junk food weekend. Soon after getting settled home from our final camping trip of the year Granny and Granddad came for a visit. They were able to go with us to the pumpkin patch where we rode the hay ride, went to the barn to feed the animals, and pick our pumpkins. Ty was also more than excited to take Granny and Grandad to the stores to show them what he was asking Santa for this year. Little did Ty know that while he wasn't looking Santa began packing his sleigh that very day :) This year Santa isn't the only thing Ty was excited about, he was actually very excited to pick out his halloween costume. He and I would sit down and look at the catalogs. With Toystory being his most favorite movie right now, he decided early on that he wanted to be buzz lightyear. Once we got his costume he proceeded to wear it for 2 days straight, only taking it off to take baths. He was so cute as he "flew" around the house yelling "to infinity and beyond". Aidan was our precious pink bunny, and actually didn't mind wearing her costume. We went to a very cute little local downtown area on Friday night where they do a candy crawl and the shops all hand out candy. On Saturday night we had some of our close friends over for some hot chili, and good old fashion trick or treating. The kids all had a blast, as well as the adults. It has been a busy few months, but that seems to be how our fall goes. We are looking now towards Thanksgiving, where we will also be celebrating Christmas with Chad's parents. We are also busy planning Aidan big first birthday, we can hardly believe our baby girl is already going to be 1. She is a speed crawler now, and beginning to walk around ottomans, and up and down next to the couch. It won't be long before she is taking steps on her own. She is getting so big, she is signing "eat", "more please", "milk", "all done". She loves to play peek a boo and blowing kisses. She is a happy girl, however no one can make her smile quite like Ty can. Anything he does she thinks is hysterical, her face lights up simply when he talks to her. He is such a sweet big brother. They are our two most precious blessings, in which we give thanks everyday.

Family

We mourn the loss of our beloved Papaw who passed this afternoon. We cherish the wonderful memories and rejoice in his life (of 87 years). We are so thankful that our two children had the privilege of knowing him. We leave tomorrow to travel for the funeral. Tonight at dinner Ty said a prayer for papaw and grams. We told him papaw was with Jesus now, in heaven. Ty said "I want to see Jesus too." Daddy replied, "We aren't quite ready for you to see Jesus just yet." We hold close all the precious pictures and memories we have of Ty and Aidan with papaw. He lived a long, wonderful life and we know he is in a glorious place now. However, he will be greatly missed.

Family summer fun

We had a blast on our annual family beach trip. The beach was so much fun, Ty loved looking for shells and Aidan (much like her brother on his first beach trip) wanted to eat the sand. Ty has many beach trips under his belt now, and joined in with mommy's excitement many weeks before we left for our trip. After almost a dozen plane rides for Ty this was the first one that he really enjoyed, and stayed awake for. When we were landing we flew over the ocean, Ty was amazed. Aidan and Ty both loved the pool. Ty was in the pool every morning almost as soon as we got up. Ty and I would be up early (usually at sunrise) while daddy and Aidan slept a little longer. We would go outside to watch some blue's clues, eat a little breakfast, then by the time I got my coffee he was asking for his swimming trunks. If we weren't at the beach Ty was swimming. We will continue to have a busy couple of months with another beach trip planned for Sept, along with two camping trips. Aidan has been army crawling for about 3 weeks now. She is getting really fast. She is up on her hands and knees often so it's only a matter of time before she decides to really get going. Ty is bigger than ever. He is now riding the bike he got last Christmas. He rides it everywhere. Each morning, if the weather is good, I load up Aidan and Bailey and we take a long walk so Ty can ride around the neighborhood. It is so sweet to watch Aidan and Ty together. Ty enjoys so much making Aidan laugh, and he does it with such ease. She adores him and thinks anything he does is just hilarious. We are so blessed.

Busy summer

We love our summer, the pool calls our name about every day. Ty is still our swimmer, he loves to dive under the water. He is swimming small distances, from us to the steps. Aidan has begun to love the water as well. She has so much fun splashing. The first part of our summer has been a lot of parks, pools and family time. We took the kids to their first drive in movie, that was exciting. We were actually in town for the 4th, which is very rare, and enjoyed the towns parade. Afterwards we had friends over for a lot of food, games, and fireworks. We haven't traveled as much as we normally do but that is getting ready to change. Last weekend mommy went away for a short girls weekend and daddy, Ty and Aidan had a blast together. Daddy constructed a big fort that covered the entire living room and half the kitchen. They had such a good time. We leave this weekend to go visit Chad's younger brother/wife and their son (cousin Warner). Then we are on to Granny and Granddad's house. I made the mistake of telling Ty yesterday where we were going this weekend and he has begun to get upset that we aren't loading up the car now to go. We are staying about 5 days and then Ty gets to spend a week with Granny and Granddad, we still aren't quite ready for Aidan to be gone from us yet. We will be making a weekend trip to the mountains to spend with Chad's parents and pick up Ty. We have been doing the potty dance here frequently, Ty is really doing well. He has been very excited lately from doing the BIG poo poo on the potty. Aidan is working on her third tooth so we are chewing on everything. She is taking her time on crawling. But of course why would she hurry that up, she is the crowned princess and enjoys sitting to play while her toys are brought to her :) I am excited for August as well for our family beach trip, it will be Aidan's first trip to the beach and of course Ty is our little beach bum. It should be a blast.

Our babies and summer fun

I appoligize for taking such a long break between our last entry. I had some surgery which kept me down for a little while. Nana (my mom) and Aunt Angel (my sister) came into town to take care of the kids and the house. The kids were spoiled as usual. Their cousin Brayden came with Aunt Angel and they had a blast together. We have such cute pictures of the three of them. It's been a little hard on Ty and Aidan. Mommy hasn't been able to hold them for a while and it's hard when things are not normal around the house. I've recovered pretty well now and we have been having a lot of summer fun. Aidan had her first trip down to the pool last Saturday. She was unsure about it at first but began to splash and play and really enjoy it. Ty was the dare devil as usual diving under the water. He swam from daddy over to the steps, it seem he is getting better and better at swimming. He likes to swim under the water. We have made many frequent trips to the splash pad. Ty loves running through the water with his friends, Aidan just loves being outside watching her crazy brother. We have been enjoying our family bbq out back and we love having picnics outside for lunch. We just love being outside in the summer. We are having vbs at church this week. It's been busy but it's been such a good week. Ty loves going and singing all his bible songs. The toddlers sit up front so when we are up there he gets involved much more often with Mr. Paul, which he loves. We have a lot of trips planned for this month along with a fun party here for the 4th of July. We love summer time.

Our babies

Aidan is getting so big now. She is sitting up by herself and is beginning to scoot across the floor on her stomach. She has two teeth coming through on the bottom now, so she is chewing on everything. She is our happy little girl. In the mornings she never wakes up crying, she just talks sweetly and has such a precious smile when she sees either me or Chad. She adores Ty and laughs at anything he does. She is not a fan of baby food but is beginning to tolerate sweet potatoes. She really is not a fan of the fruit, bananas she hates. She is not a big eater but she has gotten better over the last couple of weeks. She loves bouncing, and gets pretty airborne in her bounce seat. It's so hard to believe that she will be 6 months in a few weeks. She, however, is still wearing 3 month clothes. Our little petite girl. Ty is still such a sweet big brother and is very gentle with Aidan. Just within the last month the only sign of jealousy has been that he would like to be a baby. He wants us to hold him like a baby and he has mentioned wanting a bottle. Once we are holding him like a baby it is usually short lived. He is just too active to sit that still for too long. He continues to amaze us with the things he says and remembers. You can not say anything with him not remembering what you are saying. Example: We were driving out of town to go take care of my best friend in the hospital (due to pregnancy complications) I was talking on the phone to my sister about going to wash Lisa's hair. Later that afternoon Ty said to me, "you wash Aunt Lisa's hair". He just listens to everything and remembers it. Another cute thing he is doing now is shaking hands with people he meets. While the weather is still cold outside we walk in the mall before it opens each morning, and Ty usually doesn't want to ride in the stroller so he gets his excercise with me. One morning we were walking and this elderly couple was walking past us. Ty went up very calmly to them, stuck out his hand shook the man's hand then the women's and said "how you doing today". I think he made their week. They were so impressed with him. We can't believe how big our babies are getting, time goes by so quickly.

Mother's Day

I can't even begin to express how blessed I am. Mother's day was wonderful. Chad got up with Aidan and Ty. They made chocolate chip pancakes and coffee for me and brought me breakfast in bed. Ty, Aidan and daddy went out shopping and Ty picked out the card from he and Aidan to me. He also picked out a present for me all by himself. I got a very sweet doggy card and an orange squishy ball. It even lights up when you squeeze it. It was so sweet of him to pick out his most favorite thing for me. I have been sharing my present with Ty. The afternoon was wonderful, after worship we got some wonderful lunch and then home to spend it together. I had my mother here visiting that weekend. It's not that often I get to spend mother's day with my mom here, it was so nice. It was such an amazing weekend. I am so blessed to be a mother, and I love every minute of it.

Cabin trip

We took a trip to the mountains to stay in a cabin with Chad's younger brother, his wife and their son. We had such a wonderful time. We have the sweetest pictures of all the cousins together -Ty, Aidan and Warner. We enjoyed steaks on the grill every night. We took the kids to the aquarium on Saturday. Ty loved seeing the big sharks and all the funny looking fish. Soon Warner and Aidan will love it just as much. Warner loved giving Aidan lots of sweet kisses and Ty was so sweet with Warner, reading him books and helping him touch the pages with soft fur on it. It was such a relaxing weekend, we are hoping to do it again soon.

The Ford hospital

Well, we have had a very long week. It started last week, we went in for Ty and Aidan's well check by the docotor. However, Ty had begun to get sick the day before the doctor's appointment so by the time we went in Ty was wheezing and coughing. The doctor examined him and he had an ear infection and brochiolitis. Ty has suffered with allergies since last year. The only time he is free from the allergies is the summer and when we spend our time in Fl. The doctor is concerned that this could be the start of asthma for him, we pray it does not. It was such a painful visit, for mommy as well as the kids. Aidan had to have her 4 month shots, which she did not like AT ALL. And they ordered blood work for Ty so he had to sit on my lap as they drew his blood. They want to check him for a number of different things he could be allergic to. He did pretty well, until the end. He really wanted that needle out. After it was over he kept pointing to the spot and saying "lady took my blood away". I took him for a treat at Starbucks, then we had to go to the pharmacy to pick up his inhaler, and the bag of medicines for him. Starting over the weekend Adian began with a running nose, she is getting two teeth now so running nose often comes with that. We took percausion and began nasal spray, vicks rub on the chest and steam showers. It didn't keep it away, we ended up back at the doctor and Aidan has brochiolitis and an ear infection as well. Now both of them are doing breathing treatments every 4 hours. I will have to say we have very happy children to be as sick as they are. I have been sterilizing everything, washing everything, it feels like a hospital in here. I try not to be a paranoid mother but it's better to keep them in when chest issues start, it makes us feel better. We hope to be over this very soon. The whole family is now sick, including daddy. We are itching to get better so we can get out and enjoy the beautiful weather we are having. We do get our vitamin D by playing in the sandbox outside a little each afternoon. We are getting our fill of fresh oranges and homemade hot lemonaid (a family tradition when you are sick) which Ty loves. My parents are flying in on Saturday (my sister just left after spending the weekend at our sick household) so hopefully the house will be germ free by the weekend.

Exciting times and new things

Ty has been at Granny and granddad's house all week. I did some crying when they left Sunday, we know how much fun he will have but it's hard to let him leave for so long. Every day we talk to him and he is just having a blast. He is feeding the horse, helping grandad feed the cows, riding on the tractors, and playing in the sandbox. Granny and granddad are having so much fun having him there. They are excited when the day comes that Aidan can come too. While Ty is gone Aidan is getting all the attention here and loving every minute of it. She is growing so much and doing so many new things each day. She is eating cereal now, not loving it but soon she will. She is getting so good and making her piano play on her excersaucer and grabbing all her toys. She scoots around the floor so well, still not having interest in rolling over but I think that is only a matter of time. She LOVES to bounce, and goes crazy bouncing in her bounce seat. This morning we discovered her first tooth is popping through. She is only about a month and a half older than Ty when his first began to come through. We can't believe how big she is getting. She is such a happy girl, always smiling and squealing. She loves to be outside so I know she will love our trip to the mountains.

Our summer begins

We had a wonderful easter. We took the kids to two different easter egg hunts, Aidan just loved being outside in beautiful weather and watching Ty run around. On Sunday morning our tradition continues with easter baskets filled with goodies hidden somewhere in the house. Ty ran right to it this year, daddy said next year we are going to have to make it more of a challenge. Aidan got a cute little light up easter egg, an easter bunny, a new light up toy, a book, and a new little outfit. Ty got a few candy filled eggs, moon sand, cement truck, animal crakers, and his favorite- one of the thomas train friends. They look adoreable in their outfits for church and we actually got some really good pictures Sunday morning before church. Chad's parents were here with us, they had been here for about 4 days visiting. They had decided it would be such a good idea to let Ty go home with them after church on Sunday to stay for a week. They are going to send Ty back on Friday with Chad's younger brother, his wife and our nephew when we meet them at the cabin in the mountains. They worked on us a little to see if Aidan could come but we just aren't ready for her to leave for a week yet. Maybe next summer. We are beginning our summer of travels. Our schedule is getting booked up with visitors, looking forward to our beach trip, and several other trips scheduled. I'm so excited to see Aidan on her first trip to the beach, she will be a little older than Ty was on his first trip. We are going to have our family pictures taken on the beach this summer. I'm hoping Aidan will love the beach as much as Ty does. Then we will be 3 against 1 in our family, Chad isn't the biggest beach fan.

Ty's big 2 year birthday

On the morning of Ty's b-day (March 10th) Ty got his pancake breakfast on his big special day plate. That morning we went to Toys R us and picked out a couple of his favorite Thomas trains. Then we were off to the store to pick up his thomas train cake. On the way home we stopped by one of his favorite places (Sonic) to get him a cherry limeaid. That afternoon we had a few of his good friends over to celebrate with pizza, cake and lots of fun. He and all his friends played outside with bubbles, in the sandbox, riding his bikes and motorcycle around. He had a blast. His big birthday party was on Saturday April 4th at a park that had an adoreable train that rides around the whole park. Daddy grilled out hotdogs for everyone, then Ty got to ride the train with all his friends. There was a huge park where everyone played. Aidan had the best time just being in the sun and watching all the kids play. It turned out to be the most beautiful day. I can't believe he is already two, where does the time go? It makes me cry thinking it won't be long before we are having Adian's first birthday party.

Growing up so fast

Our babies are getting so big, it's hard to believe how quickly time passes. Aidan is reaching and grabbing her toys now. She hasn't rolled over yet but we have a couple of "almosts". She has been sleeping through the night for over a month now. It's hard to swallow that she will be four months old next week. She is our little angel, so happy - very rarely upset (usually only when there is a bottle in the near future) Chad and I have had many conversations wondering the kinds of things she will be interested in. Ty just celebrated his big 2 year b-day with cake and a few friends over, but his big party won't be until next weekend. He is having a Thomas birthday and we are having it at a park where all the kids can ride a small train that circles around the park. We are potty training now and he is doing amazing. He is more like his daddy than any of us knew. He out smarts the system and will go on the potty just enough to get his jelly bean and sticker then he will go back 1 minute later and repeat. This goes on 3-4 times, until he has gotten quite a sugar high from all his jelly beans. Mommy is pulling one over on him though, we have recently replaced the jelly beans with small little ginger cookies. Still a treat but much less straight sugar. This Saturday we take Ty to open house for soccer, if he likes it he will be playing for one month out of the summer. Just can't believe how big our babies are getting, we are so blessed.

Oh the things our children do and say

We have quite a little collection of the funny and cute things our children do and say. Aidan, although only 3 months, has developed little habits that are so funny. She loves, LOVES, to watch tv. So much that she will stop eating until you turn her head so she can't see the tv anymore, then she will begin eating again. She gives out this ear piercing scream that can be heard around the house when she is excited. We play this game with her, where daddy holds Aidan and she trys to find mommy. I call her name and when she finds me with her eyes she lights up and just starts laughing and talking. She can't go to sleep very well unless she has a blanket that she can hold onto, too cute. Oh Tyler, where do we begin. We aren't sure where he comes up with some of the things he says. When I change his diaper often he will say "good job, changing Ty's diaper mommy". It's so nice when you son approves of your diaper changing skills. The other day while dad was here we went to Ikea to get Ty his new table. On the way home dad drove while I sat in the back with the kids. Ty had his panda bear in his lap and he held on to his panda and said "hold on panda, papa's driving car". We just burst out laughing. He says such good prayers now and loves saying them. His prayers usually consist of "dear god, mommy, daddy, Aidan, Bailey" but then he will put in friends or family he has seen recently. While nana and papa were here he would say "thank you , nana and papa over to Ty's house". During the day we love to have music on to dance and sing. Ty still loves to dance around the house and does so often. We like to spin and dance in the kitchen. He loves to sing and we do most of our singing when we are driving in the car. The most common song that he starts is Jesus loves me and he really does sing most all the words all the way through. It's hard to believe that Ty turns 2 on Tuesday and Aidan turned 3 months last Tuesday. How do they get so big so fast.

Another family visit

My brother, sister-in-law, and neice came over for the weekend. They have been anxious to get over and visit to see their new neice/cousin Aidan. We had such a good time hanging out. We all packed up first thing Saturday morning and headed out to Ikea for breakfast and a little shopping. After that we got home in time for Ty and Aidan to grab a nap before we went over to enjoy the 60 degree weather at a near by park. We made our routine stop at Sonic on the way home to get the amazing cherry limeaids. The weekend goes by too quickly when you are enjoying family time. Uncle Jim and Aunt Faye gave Ty is birthday presents over the weekend. He got the cutest shark to go in his surfer room along with one of his favorite puzzle toys. They of course loved their time with Aidan and cuddled her every chance they got.

Fun in the snow

The snow began falling at about 7:00pm Sunday night. Ty was so excited to see the snow, he watched it out the window until it was time for him to go to bed. This morning we all woke up to a beautiful white winterland. Chad didn't go to work due to the weather so we were able to have daddy all day. Papa was also stuck here, and unable to make his flight home today, which he was really upset about :). What an amazing day we had all together. We all ate breakfast, then dug out our warm clothes and headed out in the snow. Papa and Ty built a snowman and had the best time throwing snow balls. After the fun in the snow everyone was in to drink hot chocolate and eat gingerbread cookies by the fire. I can't wait for the day to see Aidan and Ty play together in the snow. Aidan has been playing in her bouncy seat by the fire all day. She sqeals out in delight as she watches her bright colored toys. She is becoming quite vocal, laughing out loud. It looks like the snow will be gone by tomorrow but we enjoyed it while it lasted.

Nana and papa visit

Nana and papa flew up to visit. They have been very busy spoiling their grandchildren. We have had bad weather this weekend so there hasn't been much chance to get out and play. Nana and papa took Ty to Monkey Joes on Saturday morning so he could get some much saved up energy out. He had a blast, of course. They have been busy spoiling Aidan, toys, clothes, and just round the clock attention. She is a happy girl. They both had their professional pictures taken together on Friday morning. I'm so anxious to see how they turned out. They took some really creative pictures. They took some beautful pictures of Aidan and of Ty they got some great shots of him catching bubbles. We have had such bad weather that church services is cancelled for tonight. Nana has been making some homemade gingerbread dough so when Ty wakes up from his nap they are going to roll out the dough and make some gingerbread men. Eating warm gingerbread men by the fire, I'm not sure it gets better than that.

Big changes

Last night was our first night for Tyler to be in his big boy bedroom and for Aidan to move out of our room into her new bedroom. We have some adoreable pictures of Aidan in her beautiful pink and brown bedding (gotta love that Caden Lane) We are still in the process of getting things hung on the walls and pictures put up but it already looks so cute. We are still working on finishing Ty's bedroom but we have his bookshelf up and his surfer bedding. He has his moon nightlight hung on the wall (by far the coolest thing in his room so far) and we are working on the decals and the pictures on his wall. We were nervous how he would do his first night not being in a crib but he did amazing. He never tried to get out, even at 6:15 when he woke up in the morning he just stayed in bed and began his "are you mommy, are you?" We went to the kids first valentines party with all their play group friends from church. Tyler had a blast and I was just sure that after all that sugar we would get home and his big boy bed would look more like a trampoline to him than nap time. However, after getting him changed and in his bed I ducked out to get Aidan ready for her nap and he was out cold by the time I peeked back in to check on him. Our boy loves his sleep so much that his new bed may never be a problem. Aidan slept great in her new crib. I was a little worried with it being so much bigger space than her bed in our room. She is still sleeping until around 3:30-4:00 and actually Ty and Aidan both gave mommy a break Monday morning and slept until 7:00. I could get used to that, unfortunately it was short lived.

The not so fun and the BIG fun

On Thursday was the dreaded doctors appointment where poor Aidan had to get stuck three times. Both Tyler and Aidan had to go see the doctor. Tyler ended up having a slight ear infection, Aidan is doing great but had to have those terrible shots. She is now 11 pounds, such a big girl. She did pretty well the rest of the day on Thursday but Friday she was running a little fever and not feeling great. By Saturday everyone was doing much better. We had the most beautiful day on Saturday, 70 degrees (in February!) We packed everyone up, along with Bailey and Ty's bike. We headed over to the park and Tyler had a blast. He has gotten into saying "BIG Fun" when he is excited about something. We had lots of big fun. It was a nice change from the snow we had on Wednesday. Tyler talked to everyone playing in the park. Aidan enjoyed the sun on her face and we all just loved being in the fresh air. After the park we stopped and got our favorite treat, cherry limeaids from Sonic. It was a wonderful weekend. We are ready for the spring, we have missed our park trips.

Granny's visit

Granny got here Monday to stay for a few weeks and spend time with Tyler and Aidan. She has been busy, not having a moment's rest. All day she is either playing with Tyler, or holding and talking to Aidan. Tyler is doing his best at sharing time. He enjoys being included on the feedings, throwing diapers away, and making Aidan smile. He LOVES to hold Aidan and always says "picture - Aidan". I think he has gotten to the point where he automatically thinks if he holds Aidan there will be a quick draw on a camera - he is usually right. Aidan is getting so much more vocal, talking and laughing. She is such a strong little girl, she pulls her head so far up from our shoulders it's scary at times. When she is sitting on her bobby pillow she is nearly doing a sit up to pull her head up. She is so alert, she is beginning to enjoy watching baby Einstien and has been caught paying close attention to the Bee movie while Tyler is watching it. I know we will have a busy couple of weeks while Granny is here. She will be going home to sleep for a few days when she leaves :)

Our princess

Aidan is our little pincess. She is now beginning to smile and talk quite a bit. She loves her swing, she would sleep in it all day if she could. She is at about 9 pounds now, still not wanting food as much as her brother did at her age. She is sleeping so well through the night, only waking once to eat. Usually around 3:00 or 4:00. This morning was the morning for the whole house to sleep in. Aidan didn't wake up until 6:00 and Tyler didn't get up until 7:00- wow mommy really got some sleep! She is loving her nightly baths, kicking a little in her warm water. She is really beginning to watch her toys, especially the ones with bright yellows and reds. Tyler was reading her one of his favorite books today and she was really watching the bright yellows in the book. She loves to be swaddled at night, she is our little pea pod. We will be updating more pictures soon.

Our precious new addition

We are so sorry that have not updated our blog in a while. We have been busy with our precious new baby girl, Aidan Grace-Madison. She was born on December 3rd and is such a good baby, sleeping from 9:00 until 5:00am. She has such a sweet disposition and Ty absoultely loves her. All the aunts, cousins, granny, nana and mommy have had such a blast buying baby girl clothes. Aidan is so much fun to buy for. Even daddy has enjoyed some shopping time. She has become daddy's little princess, he just adores her. She is mommy's baby girl, we love our cuddle time. Tyler loves to help with diapers, pacifiers, and blankets. He always wants to hold her and many times he will just stand by her and rub her head. We are truly blessed with our family. Chad has done a wonderful job putting new pictures up from Christmas and there will be more to follow. There is the cutest picture of all the boys in their firetruck sweaters and Aidan in her dalmation dress. We also love the picture of Aidan with Tyler and her cousins on Christmas morning in their Christmas pjs.
